Challenge 2 This quilt was a challenge I did with Leigh Hay Martin and Sally Davey, after attending a kaleidoscope show in Jerome AZ. The challenge was that we all went home with the same 16 solid colors fabric and made a quilt. We could use 2 additional fabrics of our choice and we had one year to complete the quilt. We would then come back a year later in October 2005 and share our finished quilts with each other. This is the end result of that challenge. Having never worked with solid colors this project really pushed me to think outside of my box. I was inspired by Sharyn Craig’s “Gloried Nine Patch” after she was here teaching at our local guild. After completing the middle of the quilt I decided to accentuate the off set border with feather quilting that dropped down into the body of the quilt. This quilt holds a lot of memories for me. Good times and good friendships.
