Customer Quilts
I have been long arm quilting since 2001
and have developed my own style of quilting which is very free form and playful.
I believe that the quilting should complement a quilt. Therefore I love to come
up with artistic quilting patterns that will do that. I prefer to use
original designs rather than templates or patterns. But I will use one if
that is what the quilt calls for. I let the quilt top speak to me
and I endeavor to listen. I strive to make every quilt as beautiful as possible
and thrive on seeing it come to life.
Below you will find samples of different styles of quilting
that I have done. I have taken classes and/or been influenced by a number of
people and would like to give them credit. Marilyn Badger, Pam Clarke, Dawn
Cavanaugh, Kathy Olsen, Nichole Webb and Karen McTavish.

Custom Quilting
-- This quilting technique was inspired by Karen McTavish and her book Mastering the Art of
McTavishing. I called my version McKnapping out of respect for her. This
quilting technique was done in the background allowing the color to pop. Free
form pattern was done in the card trick blocks to give them some movement. Free
spirit fern was done in the border to complement the pattern in the fabric.
Custom Quilting -- free
spirit feathers and interlocking hearts.

Flower garden was quilted in the background which allowed the hand appliqué to
pop.

"No one expects their long-arm quilter to be
a mathematician, but this is what Shelley ended up having to be so that the
quilting flowed and moved your eye along in a restful, natural way."
